About Beckah

Hand-poured heirloom beeswax candles inspired by the seasons, the land, and the quiet rituals of home.

Beckah is a small-batch candle studio based in Waipukurau, in Central Hawke's Bay.   Every candle is poured by hand using 100% locally sourced New Zealand beeswax and natural cotton wicks, no additives, no fragrance oils, no shortcuts. Just pure beeswax, with its warm honeyed scent and golden glow.  Beeswax has been used for centuries to light homes, tables and winter evenings.  IT's soft honey scent and golden glow feel practical and ceremonial, a slower kind of light for modern life.

Many of the forms are cast from real fruit, vegetables, nuts and gathered objects, shapes inspired by orchard tables, autumn walks, old harvest traditions, and the beauty found in everyday things.

We work slowly and intentionally, producing candles in small batches throughout the seasons. Some pieces are practical, some sculptural, some made simply to bring atmosphere and warmth into a space. All are designed to feel timeless, like objects to return to year after year.

The Four Worlds

Beckah is shaped around four worlds, collections inspired by the landscapes, seasons, and rituals of life in New Zealand.

Ritual  -  Quiet daily ceremonies. Candlelight at the table, slow mornings, evening stillness, moments of pause and return.

Harvest  -   Abundance and gathering. Heirloom vegetables, full tables, golden light, the satisfaction of something grown well.

Forage  -  The wild and wandering. Forest floors, moss, pinecones, creek beds, pockets filled on autumn walks.

Orchard  -   Fruit, blossom, branches, and the feeling of belonging to a place and season.

Each collection is a different atmosphere, a way of bringing the natural world quietly into the home.

Small Batch

Because every candle is made by hand in small batches, slight variations in colour, texture, and finish are part of the process. These are not imperfections, but the marks of something genuinely handmade.
No two pieces are ever exactly alike.
